Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Announced: Release Date and What to Expect
2025-06-06 01:43:54CD Projekt Red has surprised fans with the announcement of yet another update for Cyberpunk 2077. The news was revealed during a recent livestream celebrating the game's launch on the Nintendo Switch 2. At the end of the stream, the studio confirmed that Patch 2.3 will arrive on June 26, with additional details to be shared shortly before its release.
With multiple major projects in development, including The Witcher 4 and a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, many fans assumed that support for the 2020 RPG had concluded. CD Projekt Red had previously stated that no further updates were planned, yet the game continues to receive new content. The last major update, Patch 2.2, arrived in December 2024, introducing new car customization options, a special Balatro quest, and other enhancements.
Earlier this week, fans speculated about a new Cyberpunk 2077 update after uncovering potential clues. These rumors were confirmed during CD Projekt Red's livestream, where the studio announced Patch 2.3 with a playful remark: "The last one wasn't the last one." Alicja Kozera, the senior community manager, teased that another livestream would take place at the end of June to provide more details about the update.
While the exact contents of Patch 2.3 remain unknown, there are hints that Virtuos may have played a role in its development. The studio previously collaborated with CD Projekt Red on UI improvements for Patch 2.2. Additionally, recent discoveries suggest Virtuos might be involved in a rumored second DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. Although Patch 2.3 is unlikely to match the scale of the Phantom Liberty expansion, it could introduce new quests or features.
Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red continues to make progress on The Witcher 4, as showcased in a recent tech demo. The footage highlighted new gameplay mechanics, including dynamic world interactions and wearable cloaks, set in the mountainous region of Kovir. While the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is still in early development, fans can look forward to Patch 2.3 as an unexpected but welcome addition to the game.
